Sherm Hostetter, Jr.

President & CEO

Sherman Hostetter, Jr., of Beaver, Pennsylvania, attended Penn State University on a golf scholarship from 1973-77 and graduated with a major in real estate and insurance. Presently, he continues the family auction business that was started by his parents, Col. Sherman and Doris Hostetter, in 1955. He is a full-time auctioneer and real estate broker licensed in Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia. Throughout his esteemed career, Sherm has championed the auction industry by serving as the president of Auction Marketing Institute, past president of the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association, past president of the Northwest Chapter of the PAA, and past president of the National Auction Association. Sherman is also twice a past board member of the National Auctioneers Association and a past board member of the National Association of Realtors Auction Committee. In 1992, he won the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association Bid Calling Championship and in 2010, he won the West Virginia Auctioneers Association Bid Calling Championship. In 2013, Sherman was inducted into the Pennsylvania Auctioneers Association Hall of Fame, and he has also been honored with induction into the National Auction Association Hall of Fame. Sherman holds many designations including: the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Accredited Auctioneer of Real Estate (AARE), Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA), Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), Certified Estate Specialist (CES), and is a Certified Paralegal through Penn State University. Since 2003, Sherman has served on the Pennsylvania State Board of Auctioneer Examiners, appointed by then Governor Edward G. Rendell, and is currently the Chairman of the Board. His community involvement includes volunteering for his church and community teen Bible study and serving as the past school board director for the Blackhawk School District. Away from the auction business, Sherm enjoys playing golf, which he played professionally from 1978 to 1982, trap shooting, and spending time with his family.

Matt Hostetter

Matt Hostetter is a third-generation auctioneer, carrying on the Hostetter tradition for integrity and honesty set forth by his grandfather and father.
Matt resides in Beaver Falls, PA with his wife, Cassandra, and 4 children. Matt specializes in Business Liquidations and Estate work. Since 2009, Matt has helped transition the business to online auctions. Matt spends a third of his year working as a contract auctioneer throughout the US, England, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Dubai, and the Philippines.

Matt is the 2013 PA Auctioneer Champion,
and the 2018 Champion of Champions. A graduate of Reppert School of Auctioneering. He is a licensed auctioneer in Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, Florida, and Australia.

Kylee Hostetter

Kylee Hostetter is a proud third-generation auctioneer who grew up with a gavel in her hand and auction in her blood. Her passion for the industry was evident from an early age — she graduated from Reppert Auction School at just 13 years old, setting the stage for a remarkable career that continues to grow. As a member of the Hostetter family legacy, which dates back to 1955 when her grandparents Col. Sherman and Doris Hostetter founded the family business, Kylee carries that tradition forward with dedication and heart.

Over the years, Kylee has built a distinguished reputation specializing in Real Estate and Benefit Auctions, bringing energy, expertise, and a genuine personal touch to every event she leads. She has earned several prestigious industry designations, including the Certified Auctioneers Institute (CAI), Benefit Auction Specialist (BAS), and Auction Marketing Management (AMM) — a testament to her commitment to excellence and continued professional growth. She is also a proud Life Member of the National Auction Association.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Kylee is a devoted mother of six children, and perhaps her greatest source of pride is raising the fourth generation within the family's auction company. She is deeply committed to preserving and growing the legacy her grandparents built — ensuring that the Hostetter name remains synonymous with integrity, professionalism, and a love for the auction industry for many years to come.

Luis Cheng is a bilingual professional fluent in English and Mandarin. Originally from New York, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from Penn State and is pursuing a career in the auction industry.
Luis brings a diverse skill set and strong linguistic capabilities that make him a valuable asset to our auction team. Outside of work, he enjoys cooking, swimming, and spending time with his cat.

Paige Johnston

Paige Johnston is a proud third-generation member of the Hostetter Auctioneers family, the daughter of Sherman Hostetter Jr. Growing up surrounded by the auction business, it was only natural that Paige would find her place within the company — and over the past 15+ years, she has become an absolutely integral part of the team.
Paige earned her Bachelor's Degree in Marketing and Management from Penn State Beaver, a foundation that has served her exceptionally well in her role as Lead Accounting Manager at Hostetter Auctioneers. She brings both sharp financial expertise and a deep understanding of the business to everything she does, ensuring that the company's operations run smoothly and efficiently behind the scenes. Her dual background in marketing and management gives her a uniquely well-rounded perspective that extends far beyond the numbers.
In addition to her accounting responsibilities, Paige is also a licensed auctioneer who lends her talents to benefit auctions — carrying on the family tradition of service and community engagement that has defined the Hostetter name for decades. Whether she is balancing the books or commanding the room at a charity event, Paige approaches every role with professionalism, warmth, and a genuine love for the family business her great-grandparents, Col. Sherman and Doris Hostetter, started in 1955.

Dan Reeder

Daniel Reeder is a licensed auctioneer, real estate professional, and appraiser based in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. He has been producing results for clients since 2007 and was crowned the 2017 Pennsylvania Auctioneer Champion. Daniel is the proud father of six children and continues to serve his community through his auction and real estate expertise.

Shirl Lyndes

Shirl has been married to her husband, Allen, for over 40 years and is the proud mother of seven children and grandmother to thirteen grandchildren. Over the years, she has provided care for 102 foster children and adopted two children with special needs.
Professionally and as a volunteer, Shirl has dedicated much of her life to serving the elderly and individuals with special needs. Her commitment to these communities has earned her awards and recognition from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as well as local agencies. She is deeply passionate about this work and finds great fulfillment in meeting new people and supporting individuals through important life transitions.

Haley Hostetter

Office Administrator/Storage Unit Manager

Haley Hostetter is an Office Administrator and Storage Unit Manager for Hostetter Auctioneers. She is currently evaluating which area of the company to specialize in as she continues to grow within the family business. In her role, she oversees the management of storage units, and helps ensure daily operations remain organized, and efficient. Having been raised in the auction industry, Haley has attended auctions from a young age, and brings lifelong exposure along with hands-on experience to her position. She began working full-time at Hostetter Auctioneers in mid to late 2025. Outside of work, Haley enjoys training her horse and spending time with her dog, Maggie.
